Hungry for God and His Word, Emily Hwang

I graduated from the University of Washington in 1999 with a degree in business and a concentration in accounting. At that time, with prospective job offers and alluring career paths before me, I was shown a verse by the Lord: Philippians 3:7, “What things were gains to me, these I have counted as loss on account of Christ.” At the juncture where most young people decide to give themselves to success and the pursuit of material accumulation or some kind of personal happiness, I was skeptical that these fleeting goals would bring me lasting satisfaction. I resolved at that time to be a person like the apostle Paul, whose life would count for something when all the bustle of human life died away. I wanted to know the Lord in a personal way and to know and understand the Bible. With this desire, I decided to attend the Full-Time Training (FTTA).

One thing that I have discovered since coming to the FTTA is that all the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee are solidly based on the word of God. Through their ministry, I am beginning to understand the scriptures and to develop a personal relationship with the Lord. Prior to coming to the FTTA, I was not very motivated to read the Bible, but because of the Training, my hunger to read the word and to know the Lord has greatly increased.
